OMG, if this isn’t the ABSOLUTE sweetest face you’ve ever seen, I’ll eat my wig. Toby is a precious 2-year-old Australian Shepherd who was born with a little something extra – AN EXTRA SNOUT! The poor little guy was rescued a year ago after he was abandoned in Fresno by his previous owners. I mean. Who would do such a thing? How could you not smile every time you looked at him?
Anyway…
“He was picked up by the dog catcher,” owner Todd Ray told The Huffington Post. “I heard about him and contacted them and they said it was almost at the end of his time. They were going to put him down.”
Luckily, an animal rescue group saved Toby, and Ray was later able to adopt him. Ray is the owner of the Venice Beach Freak Show, and also holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of two-headed animals, so he knows a thing or two about caring for unusual animals. Toby has since joined Ray’s menagerie which includes Pinky, a two-legged chihuahua, and Rocky, a five-legged miniature doberman pinscher. By all accounts, everyone they make a very happy family.
From HuffPo:
Ray was initially worried that the two noses might present breathing problems, such as a hole inside the mouth linked to the nasal area. However, a vet who closely examined Toby’s two noses said the dog is perfectly healthy.
Now, Ray suspects his pooch with the twin proboscis actually has a supersized sense of smell.
“He can sniff out anything,” Ray said. “I can throw a ball where no one can see it and he’ll still pick it out.”
Toby not only has two noses, but also two nicknames. “I call him Toby-One Kenobi, but also Toby Two-Nose — that sounds like a gangster name,” Ray laughed.
I just can’t with those noses. Seriously. They look like a hoof. Little hoof nose. OMG, I WANT A TWO-NOSED DOG SO BAD!
