Buttigieg met Ford earlier this year and the designer immediately connected with the Pete’s politician’s messaging. But he had concerns over how the candidate looked and later managed to get a message to Buttigieg’s husband Chasten, offering his services as a stylist.
But Pete didn’t accept. Ford said he understood why,
“Obviously he can’t wear my clothes. They’re too expensive, they’re wrong, they’re not made in America. And besides, whatever he’s doing is working. So does anyone need to fuck with it?’”
Buttigieg currently polls fifth among Democratic voters and thanks to strong core support (& the LGBTQ community) he recently passed the hurdle to remain on the debate stage for future showdowns.
Go Mayor Pete!
