I’m crazy busy but I wanted to post a quick piece about the strange happenings in New York. Last night The New York State Assembly once again approved a marriage equality bill which they had already passed back in May. The new vote was approved in an “extraordinary session” by the State Assembly and removes any obstacle to the bill being signed by the Governor if the New York Senate votes on and approves the bill. Rumors were flying that the vote would take place late last night. The most outspoken opponent of marriage equality in New York, Senator and Pentecostal preacher, Ruben Diaz, was said to have retired to his chambers to pray, for he fears the vote to be imminent. While there is no guarantee that the bill would pass the senate, many activists want to have a vote to see which senators actually support our equality and expose those who don’t. There was no vote last night but the Senate reconvenes in yet another special session today at 10am. If you are a New Yorker you can contact your Senator here and request that they support a vote on marriage equality.
