Rocco Ritchie (son of Madonna & Guy) is the otherwise known as the artist Rhed.
The NY Post is reporting that Ritchie is selling his paintings through the London gallery, Tanya Baxter Contemporary who says,
Rhed is a young emerging artist whose cultural background is diverse and unconventional.
His childhood was spent between New York and London which have given him an eclectic and diverse artistic background. He is an authentic, pure and undiluted product of the 21st century
… he is a genuine original who paints for his generation as well for himself.”
His first exhibition with the gallery was in July 2018, with a release that said,
“Now based in London and attending Central Saint Martins, he has embraced a new genre of bricolage art with expressionist verve and street energy. It is no surprise that he first dabbled as a graffiti artist and his work certainly has hints of Basquiat and Banksy.”
FYI, today is Basquiat’s birthday.

The Sun has reported that Rocco
“is inspired by graffiti artist Banksy and sees himself as a key player in the London art scene in a few years’ time.”
Rocco is still in school at Saint Martins, where Stella McCartney also went, along with many sons and daughters of the rich and famous.
Rocco had a show this summer at the Baxter gallery, which was attended by both Madonna and Guy. British press noted the exes were both there, along with Madonna’s adopted children Mercy and Davis, but failed to clock that Mom & Dad came to see their son’s work.
No shade, he’s still young and the work is developing but this looks like a LOT of other student work, if you ask me. But hey, these days being an artist is about having a brand and Rocco was born with not one but two –but he’s chosen to create a third new one. Hey, if your Mom is Madame X, you can be Rhed.
On the gallery’s website in a bio of Rhed, there is a good Claude Monet quote,
“I would advise young artists to paint as they can, as long as they can, without being afraid of painting badly.”
There was a private dinner celebrating Rhed & his work at this month’s Art Basel Miami Beach.
