#TogetherAtLast?: Madonna & Gaga To Star In Remake of “All About Eve”

The tension has been there from the beginning so, it makes for perfect type casting. According to The Daily Mail, Madonna and Lady Gaga are in talks to star in a remake of the classic All About Eve for Netflix. Presumably after Madge finishes her Rebel Heart tour and Gaga ties the knot with Taylor Kinney.

All About Eve tells the story of an up and coming starlet who overtakes her idol. The comparisons are obvious to anyone familiar with The Material Girl and Mother Monster and, over the years they’ve both talked about the rivalry in the press. Gaga told The Daily Mail,

“The fact that I was on her mind at all. I mean, Madonna’s … she’s Madonna. I looked up to her for a long time.

I think playing into the gossip of the tabloids and, I guess the fodder of the competition, that’s just not what I’m about. And as a punk-rocker from New York, I’ve basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna!“

For her part Madonna says,

“The only time I ever criticized Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs. It’s got nothing to do with ‘she’s taking my crown’ or ‘she’s in some space of mine.’ She has her thing. I do think she’s a very talented singer and songwriter. It was just that one issue.“

Some have suspected that Madonna’s song, Two Steps Behind Me, was a thinly veiled diss at Gaga, with the lyrics reading,

“You’re a copycat, Where is my royalty? You’re a pretty girl, I’ll give you that. But stealing my recipe, it’s an ugly look.”

Madonna now claims she doesn’t “care anymore” about the “boring” feud.

“I don’t think she wants my crown … We live in a world where people like to pit women against each other. And this is why I love the idea of embracing other females who are doing what I’m doing… “
