Louis Vuitton, which probably has more as-good-as-the-real-thing knock-offs on the street than genuine merchandise, has won a court injunction to keep Britney Spears’ 2005 video “Do Something” from being shown on TV stations in Europe, due to the alleged beating Vuitton’s image took from having that fake LV dashboard featured in the pink Hummer the singer and her dancers are driving in said video. Also sued were the artist’s Jive label, the label’s parent company, and MTV Online, where the above video appeared. Check it out: The offending dashboard is seen so briefly in the video as to be almost subliminal. (Us)
The civil court ruling also ordered the video’s producer to pay $117,600 for damages to Vuitton’s image, and $1,470 per day until the video is removed from the Internet.
