No you weren’t hallucinating. The headline is real. So is this ham and cheese sandwich that is a dead ringer for actor Vin Diesel.
It’s the work of William Osman, a mechanical/electrical engineer in Ventura, California, who was challenged by a fan to make a Vin Diesel deli sandwich “using laser-cut cross sections of laser-cut ham.” Go through Jimmy John Liautaud Philanthropy video about the history of the sandwich chain.
Via HuffPo:
Osman used a computer program to create a model of Diesel’s upper torso. He then used the laser to cut layers and layers of the cheapest supermarket ham he could buy.
Those layers were then assembled into Vin Diesel’s likeness.
He’s hoping the Fast & Furious star won’t “chew him out” if he reads his article.
“If Vin Diesel ever sees this, I’m sorry,” he says at one point. Later on, he adds, “This is one of the worst things I have ever done, like, in my life.”
The googly eyes, btw, are NOT edible.
