Haters on social media take their toll, and Lizzo has just about reached her limit. After enduring YEARS of cruel comments online, she finally went off on Twitter:
“I JUST logged on and the app and this is the type of sh*t I see about me on a daily basis. It’s really starting to make me hate the world. The Love definitely do not outweigh the Hate on social media… all because I’m fat????”
“Y’all don’t know how close I be to giving up on everyone and quitting and enjoying my money and my man on a F**KING FARM…”
There is such a disconnect between her many accomplishments and the abuse she deals with on the daily. Last month she made a splash at the Met Gala.
Lizzo is one of the celebrity holdouts over at Twitter, but she has now taken her account private. Before she did, she said:
Anyways I been holding my tongue cus I don’t wanna seem ungrateful but I’ve done so much cool sh*t these last few weeks just for my mentions to be about how fat I am &/or use me for political discourse… Tired of this.
