I hate to make this comparison, but Lil Nas X seems to be following the Trumpian playbook of cascading scandals, where the sheer volume of stories and quotes and outfits and incidents means that none of ’em stick and none of ’em will take him down. It’s move on to the next day, the next media cycle. And I love it, I love it, I love it.
Today, he came out on Twitter as a power bottom, god love him.
When, after his BET onstage gay kiss, one commenter asked if he were a bottom or a top, he did not hesitate or or equivcate or hem and haw or try to wiggle out of it, he simply said:
Well, OK then! He then followed that up with this:
“We teach our bottoms to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to bottoms, you can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you would threaten the top.”
Didn’t think we’d be having this discussion today, but here we are. And we are certainly a better world for having Lil Nas X in it.
