Handsome as the sun interior design power couple, Nate Berkus and his husband Jeremiah Brent, are inviting TV viewers on their journey as they help other families reinvent disastrous spaces.
Their new TLC show, Nate & Jeremiah By Design, follow the married design duo as they help others. The show also gives viewers a peek into their own personal family life and their new L.A. home.
The couple opened up to People magazine about the show and the important visibility it provides for gay families. Brent, who welcomed now 2-year-old daughter Poppy with Berkus in 2015 says,
“It’s a renovation show, but you’re also getting to come into the lives of two gay dads and their family, so that’s a great thing in and of itself.
You can see that we’re just like you. We both believe in opening up the doors and letting people know that we love the way you love. We eat dinner the way you eat dinner. Everything about us is the same, and as cliche as the saying is, love is love. That’s exactly what the show is about.”
Berkus also just released a line of home goods for Target and he’s also producing a new TV series based on Sam Lansky’s coming of age memoir, The Gilded Razor.
The new show opens the door for viewers to see two gay men living and working together as husbands and fathers. A step in the right direction to normalizing something that is SO normal. Family life, no matter who you love.
Watch.
