As you’ve no doubt heard, Aaron Carter came out as bi earlier this month. But in a new interview with TMZ, Carter said that he was not looking to date men,

“When it comes down to it, really, I had an experience when I was 17 with a guy, but now as an almost 30-year-old man, I’m going to be pursuing relationships with women.

I want to pursue a relationship with a woman. I’m actually taking [reality star] Porcelain Black out on a date tonight.”

Just a day after his announcement he split with girlfriend of one year Madison Parker who has denied that Carter’s coming out was the reason for their break-up.

“My split with Aaron has nothing to do with him being bisexual.“

But Carter threw some shade at his ex-gf,

“It’s all good… isn’t it funny what she comes out and says? I can’t really do anything about it, I’m going to move on with my life. If someone loves you enough, they’ll never leave you.

They’ll never leave you over you saying that I want to be honest about whether it’s about me being bisexual, bicurious, being gay, or anything. It doesn’t matter – if they really love you, they’ll never leave you for that.”

For her part, Parker says,

“Our parting of ways is something that has been coming for some time and it’s the best thing for us both. Some of my closest friends and loved ones are of the LGBTQ community, people I love and support wholeheartedly, so for… anyone to label me ‘homophobic’ is appalling and hurtful and couldn’t be more off character.”

I’ve been nothing but supportive of Aaron and his career and I’m happy for him that he’s having the courage to live his truth. Breaking up is never easy for anyone, but it is my hope that we can move on from this point as peacefully and respectfully as possible. I wish him all the best.”

Break-ups are bad enough without having them be public, so for that, I’d say it’s none of my business.
