Pierre Goyard writes from Paris: Hey, Stephen. Thanks for your note and your interest on WOW about “What’s up with France.” There was actually a huge mobilisation against equality of rights on January the 13th. The manifestation in Paris streets was organized by the Catholic Church and joined by conservative parties just to be in opposition with the present government. It was a sad thing, actually, but gay people here are very active, reactive and motivated. We LGBT people will make a 2nd walk in reply on next Sunday to defend our rights. We all asked our straight friends and our family to demonstrate in the streets of many French major cities. We all hope it will be a huge success. If you’re interested, I took some pictures of the previous marches in Paris (of the pros and the cons): see here. As a conclusion, I’d say that we’re not too worried here because we know that our government is determined to adopt the law on both gay marriage & adoption. Thank you for your support, Stephen, and keep on writing beautiful stuff!
