It’s a stressful time to travel while there’s a global pandemic raging, but there’s stress and then there’s this couple.
Two Delta passengers forced open an emergency exit and slid out of their taxiing plane, along with their dog.
The incident happened at La Guardia airport yesterday aboard a Delta flight from NYC to Atlanta. The man reportedly started to panic when the plane began to taxi out to a runway, telling a a flight attendant that he couldn’t sit down due to his post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to one passenger, the man said,
“If I sit down, I’ll freak out.”
He then walked to the front of the plane and slid out the door (?!) with a woman and their service dog.
Lenis Valens, a Port Authority spokeswoman said,
“This doesn’t happen every day at the airport.”
I sure as hell hope NOT. Poor guy. And woman. And flight crew. And fellow passengers…
The couple was arrested and is in custody. No word on the dog.
