Lana Del Rey has just announced her upcoming album Lust for Life in the most Lana Del Rey way: a Twilight Zone-ish album trailer.
After Lana Del Rey released her single “Love” earlier this year, she said “I made my first 4 albums for me, but this one is for my fans and about where I hope we are all headed.”
After she started recording the album – which is coming soon – she “started out thinking that the whole record was going to have sort of a, like, a ’50s, ’60s feeling, with some kind of Shangri-La, early Joan Baez influences.” Which sounds AWESOME, but the political climate has changed considerably since Lana began recording it over 15 months ago. She said of the album, “it’s just a little more socially aware. That’s kind of a global feeling.”
Now we get this album trailer that – without even previewing any songs from the new album – gives us a glimpse of the visual direction Lana will be going in for her fifth album. Check it out:
