Kristen Stewart opened up to InStyle magazine about her sexuality, saying
“The first time I ever dated a girl, I was immediately being asked if I was a lesbian. And it’s like, ‘God, I’m 21 years old.’”
She told the publication that the media attention she got early in her career, when she was seen out some of Hollywood’s hottest men, may have “hurt people I’ve been with.”
“Not because I felt ashamed of being openly gay but because I didn’t like giving myself to the public, in a way,” she continued. “It felt like such thievery. This was a period of time when I was sort of cagey.”
“We did everything we could to not be photographed doing things — things that would become not ours. So I think the added pressure of representing a group of people, of representing queerness, wasn’t something I understood.”
Page Six gives a run-down of her dating history, noting that in addition to her well-publicized relationship with Robert Pattinson, she was photographed with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders “who was nearly two decades older than Stewart and married at the time.”
She then went on to date visual effects producer Alicia Cargile and model Stella Maxwell. The Charlie’s Angels actress is currently in a relationship with screenwriter Dylan Meyer. Last year, Stewart told Howard Stern that she is in love and “can’t f–king wait” to get married to her girlfriend.
