Badass free-speech warrior Kesha has been on the road playing gigs with her band The Creepies. She’s legally not allowed to sing her own songs in their original form (freakin’ Dr Luke, man) so here she is covering Lesley Gore‘s 1963 empowering hit “You Don’t Own Me.” Towards the end she defiantly shouts “No one can ever own you, no matter what they say or do…because to own you means they can control your happiness and dont ever give some other motherfucker the keys to your happiness!”
PREACH!
“You Don’t Own Me” begins at the 3:40 mark.
