A nine-year-old girl was pelted with rocks thrown from the hilltop house of Kenny G while she was playing on Malibu’s Little Dume Beach below. Tossed from a window 50 feet above by two teenagers not related to the Gs, the rocks landed on little Brooke’s head, creating a wound in her scalp that required stitches. Mr G, the saxophonist who plays difficult-to-listen-to easy-listening “jazz,” said the missiles were in fact only Hershey’s Kisses and PowerBars and that his wife paid the girl’s medical bill, but LA County Sheriff’s detectives are sorting out the facts.
Brooke’s family is furious about the incident and the way the family of Kenny G allegedly handled the matter. They believe those on the bluff targeted Brooke and her brother, Chase, a 12-year-old with Down’s syndrome and autism. “Brooke was bleeding profusely. She was covered in blood.” said the father who was at the beach with his wife and three children. “My older daughter was screaming for us. She said some kids threw a rock that struck her sister from the home above. It was a premeditated attack. Those kids had thrown the rocks earlier. Whether it is candy, an energy bar or rock, my daughter’s head was split open to the skull.”
Still, it could have been a lot worse: Kenny G’s music could have been playing during the assault. (Source)
