It’s your mindless bit of summer fluff starring kick-ass women in wonderful wigs and gowns blowing shit up. It stars Kristen Stewart, looking like she’s enjoying herself for the first time in her career, Disney’s Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine in the recent live-action Aladdin), and newcomer (?) (to me?) Ella Balinska. Director Elizabeth Banks is Bosley, as is the always wonderful Patrick Stewart and also Djimon Hounsou. Don’t ask me to explain how they are all Bosley – it just says so on IMDB. I guess it’s a mystery yet to be unraveled.
For eye candy we have my forever bae Noah Centineo (future He-Man in the HOUSE!), Sam Clafin (who I always wish would play Johnny Rotten in a future biopic), cutie Chris Pang, and – WOW – Luis Gerardo Mendez.
The plot? I don’t know. Something about an invention that could “revolutionize the power industry” but could “be weaponized,” so everyone is after it, naturally, leading to car chases and explosions and roundhouse kicks and going undercover in the aforementioned wigs and gowns.
BONUS: We get to hear a snippet of the upcoming Ariana Grande. Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey theme song which premieres tonight!
