The “Yummy” video by Justin Bieber is about to hit 150 million YouTube views. Now Erik van der Ven and Eline Vera de Reus at Without Music remixed it as a mukbang ASMR video.
Mukbang is the English spelling of the Korean word for “listen.” In pop culture, mukbang describes audiovisual media of someone eating, especially large amounts of unusual or noisy foods. Some people find listening to mukbang with headphones to be extremely pleasurable, sending tingles down their spine.
Mukbang is not for everyone, but it has a huge international following and its own superstars like Yuka Kinoshita and Zach Choi.
