When it came time to announce the Fan Favorite Award during Canada’s Juno Awards Saturday night, there were audible boos in the stadium for hometown boy Justin Bieber.
Bieber, however, wasn’t there to hear them. Instead, Canada’s Olympic women’s curling team accepted the trophy on his behalf, and bore the brunt of the stadium’s wrath. Then, bizarrely, Serena Ryder, who won the award for Songwriter of the Year, attempted to defend the indefensible pop twat. “I really think that Justin Bieber is an amazing musician,” she told the crowd, “and he deserved every bit of that award because he’s been working his ass off his entire life and we need to support how awesome he is.” Whatever, kiss-ass.
