While our beloved WOW Report editor is out of the office on jury duty, along comes this timely story of a Cape Cod man who claimed he was homophobic, racist and a habitual liar to avoid possible service on a grand jury. The judge’s response? Refer the man, Daniel Ellis, to prosecutors for possible charges. “I have the distinct impression that you’re intentionally trying to avoid jury service,” said the judge. “That’s true,” answered Ellis. We doubt we’ll have to worry about our editor making similar excuses – in fact we suspect he’s secretly holding out for the Nicole Richie trial which starts tomorrow. Fingers crossed, we could have an inside source on her DUI case. Unless the defense team ever read this. Or this. Or this. (CNN; t/y Ross)
