John Duff’s House on Fire is a light “throwback track” with an infectious beat and a dance you want to do –on TikTok.
The choreo for the song is by Duff, and is featured in the video that’s actually started a real TikTok craze. Yes, even legendary singer/ choreographer/ American Idol judge Paula Abdul recently released her own version.
Duff says,
I wrote the song about somebody I went on one date with. Unbeknownst to them, they lived in my mind as ‘the one’.”

The music video tells the story of a wannabe-TikTok-star, where on- camera, he’s a typical influencer promoting rainbows, sunshine and positive energy but off-camera there’s a really dark side.
With references to Silence of the Lambs, Misery, and You the video begs the question: have we become hostages to the algorithm of TikTok and similar social platforms?
Duff is an ACTUAL social media darling (and bonafide hottie) that grew up outside of Baltimore. After graduating Syracuse University, he went NYC, finally moving to Hollywood to make it big.
