Besides being the “Queen of all Queens” and a “winer, baby”, Jinkx Monsoon was just sainted.
Jinkx’s Everything at Stake tour ended in her hometown of Portland, Oregon where she was granted the highest honor by the city’s chapter of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
The sainthood is given to,
deserving individuals whose life, accomplishments, deeds, and actions align with [the Sisters’] core mission and values.”
The Sisters are part of the international organization of drag performers that dresses as nuns to satirize Christianity and promote harm reduction and sex education. They posted a video saying,
promoting the importance of living life as one’s authentic self” and for being “the original youngest MILF.
We hereby bestow upon Jinkx Monsoon the canonization of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Order of Benevolent Bliss.”
Jinkx was granted the title Saint Abby Fab High Priestess of Heca-THEY, Patron Saint of Gems, Prison Broads, and Tardis (In a nod to her upcoming role on Doctor Who.)
In a statement, Sister Shiso Panda of the Portland Sisters shared that the chapter is
very proud of our local born-and-raised superstar Jinkx Monsoon.
Especially their efforts in championing queer and trans rights; raising awareness, and helping promote the acceptance of gender fluidity/non-conformity; and for being an overall magickal, miraculous creature bringing so much joy to the masses.”
Monsoon posted a photo from the tour,
There’s no way to encapsulate how I feel, so I’m not gonna try. Just wanna say thanks to all who attended my dream tour.”
Monsoon joins the ranks of legends like Dolly Parton, Madonna, Cher and the late Sinead O’Connor, who have also been sainted by the Sisters.
