Jimmy Fallon is just one in a long line of interviewers who have allowed unstoppable demagogue Donald Trump to rise to power without being grilled about his divisive politics, hate-mongering, and endless lies (Lookin’ at you, too, Matt Lauer). As you may recall, Fallon had Trump on his show last week, and spent the entire segment lobbing warm and fuzzy softball questions at him before good-naturedly ruffling his wig. The internet was not amused. When a TMZ cameraperson asked the comedian about accusations that he went “too soft” on Trump, Fallon lamely countered with:
“Have you seen my show?” Fallon mumbled with a slight smile. “I’m never too hard on anyone, yeah.”
Great.
On next week’s show, the bloated corpses of Manuel Noriega, Baby Doc Duvalier, and Idi Amin drink sip pumpkin spice lattés and dish about Ryan Lochte’s Charleston on Dancing with the Stars.
