I read with great interest this morning on A Socialite’s Life (via The Corsair) a piece about Judith Regan (left) and Jenna Jameson (right). In the piece, it’s revealed that Jenna Jameson has filed a federal lawsuit against Regan to try and stop her from “participating” in Jameson’s new A&E reality series. It reminded me of a panel discussion that was held after our February 7th New York premiere of Inside Deep Throat. Judith Regan was part of that panel. I went back and took a look at some of the things she said. Here are some samples, direct quotes; draw your own conclusions.

“I worked with Jenna over a period of five years. She’s thought of as probably the number one porn star in the world right now, has probably made more money than anyone else in the porn business as an actress currently. And over the five years that I’ve worked with her on her memoir, it became clear to me and to her, and, and it was something that she really wasn’t aware of before she started telling the story of her life, that she had suffered a great deal of sex abuse as a child.”
“[T]he sum total of, of her experience was that this was an incredibly traumatic life and that was really how she got into the porn business. And she had been exploited by a lot of people along the way.”
“She [Jenna] has her sort of public relations statement that she makes about being in the porn business because she’s still in the porn business. . . . Which is, oh, I love what I do, and, you know, it’s a job, and it’s so wonderful, and I’m empowered, and it’s so empowering to make all this money and to be making all these decisions for yourself. But the reality is very different. You know, she is involved, now married to a man who only lets her star in porn films with him. (Laughs) And she has sex with women, it’s either women or this guy.”
“She [Jenna] is not a happy person. She’s a very sad and tragic person in a lot of ways.”
