Ivanka and Jared won’t be welcomed back to NYC society with open arms, but they have a different plan it seems.
The NY Post’s Page Six reported that Vanky and hubby just bought some VERY expensive land on Indian Creek Island in Miami, also known as
“The Billionaire’s Bunker.”
They plan to move their family to Miami –just a quick chopper ride up the coast to visit Daddy and step-Mom at Mar-a-Lago– after they leave DC in 39 days!
They paid a reported $30 million for a plot of land on the exclusive island. Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen will be their neighbors as they just bought a house there too for $17 million. They plan to tear it down and build their dream home.
Supermodel Adriana Lima, Julio Iglesias, former Sears CEO Eddie Lampert and billionaires Carl Icahn and Jeff Soffer are all neighbors too.
The reported JarVanka move is freaking some local parents out. The Kushner/ Trumps have two young children.
One Miami parent on the social scene told the Post,
“The closest good Jewish school to where they bought their land is Lehrman, which is about 5 minutes away.
Otherwise, Ransom Everglades, which would be far for them, Miami Country Day — which is about 15 minutes — and Cushman are all very good private schools.
Pinecrest is a very good school, but super far. If they are going Jewish and plan to in the meantime rent or live in that area near where they are building the house, I bet Lehrman.”
I must have gotten 10 texts [about this] yesterday.”
The speculation on what where and when is going nuts. The Miami school parent added,
“Building a mansion on Indian Creek is no small job — the houses are enormous. How long does it take to build a house from scratch? So who knows when they’d actually be in that house.”
But while some people might be freaked out about their little ones going to school with the Kushner kids, for lots of reasons, not the least of which is security (think Secret Service) some believe the idea is a wise move.
Former Vanity Fair editor and Trump-hating current co-editor of Airmail, Graydon Carter says of their chances in Manhattan,
“I don’t think anybody that I know would touch them with a barge pole.
They’re done in New York. I don’t think they can eat at restaurants . . . I think they’d have a rough time. I think places like Florida and certain quarters of New Jersey will be fine for them . . . New York is very different.
“I don’t see them fitting in at all. I hope I never cross paths with them.”
I’m sure we’ll hear about it in print, if you do. Carter has been taunting Trump for 30 years since he called him in as editor of Spy magazine,
“a short-fingered vulgarian.”
