After artist and wowlebrity Sham Ibrahim painted a portrait of Janice Dickinson (actually, three identical portraits), their mutual friend, model Celeste Octavia, happened to show a cellphone photo of them to the supermodel one day at Starbucks, and Dickinson invited Sham to bring the originals over to her house in Beverly Hills. “Celeste’s musician husband Jay St Jermaine turned camera man and captured everything on video,” says Sham. “Janice sure liked her portrait better than Joan Collins liked hers. I’m forever grateful to Janice for inspiring me to keep making art!” Joan Collins, you might remember – in a move more insulting than Madonna’s snub of the fan proffering hydrangeas – refused Sham’s portrait of her and gave it back to him on the spot.
