Our good friends at Frontiers went inside the home libraries of their favorite Angelenos for a feature appropriately titled “Inside the Home Libraries of Our Favorite Angelenos” and World of Wonder’s very own James St. James made the cut along with many other WOWlebrities including Daniel Franzese, John Waters, Austin Young, Jackie Beat, Dusti Cunningham and more! James’ photo was shot by Idris + Tony for our book The World According to Wonder (available for purchase!) written by Fenton Bailey.
James also did a short interview with the magazine:
What is the most cherished possession in your library?
I collect etiquette books, so I have a lot of fun first editions of Barbara Cartland, Quentin Crisp, Sydney Biddle Barrows. A lot of my celebrity memoirs are signed. I stood in line for two hours for Vanna White one time. Oh, I have a Duchesss of Windsor cookbook that is so OCD it makes Joan Crawford look like Mama June. But my favorite is this copy of Andy Warhol’s America. “To James, I love you madly, Andy Warhol.” Of course, I had to tell him to write that, but he went along….What are you currently reading?
My books are on my Kindle, which is my best friend. I jump around a lot, but right now I’m reading Present Shock: When Everything Happens Now by Dougla Rushkoff, Mrs. Dalloway by Virgina Woolf, Darling Monster: The Letters of Lady Diana Cooper, Assholes: A Theory by Aaron James and some others.
ConDRAGulations James! Check out the entire feature on Frontiers.com OR if you’re in Los Angeles, pick up the latest issue of Frontiers in most any gay friendly place in the city!
