Surprisingly, for the first time in his career, Prince had an album debut at number one on the charts. So, in an effort to keep 3121 at the top, his people have convinced him to put in some time on American Idol, a stint that Barry Manilow recently found very boosting to his bank account (his CD shot up 20 spots after AI). Prince, who’s not fond of American Idol, will not only perform, but also give guidance (and fashion advice?) to the kids, which could result in must-see TV. Seems Idol is flushing the old-timers out of the woodwork: Kenny Rogers tonight, and Rod Stewart is thinking about a guest spot.
