Social media likes a good visual and after Kellyanne Conway made a comment about “microwaves that turn into cameras” it can’t help but keep coming up with new ones.
In an interview with the Bergen County Record on Sunday, Conway talked about Trump’s unsubstantiated claim that his predecessor, Barack Obama, ordered wiretapping of his communications during the campaign. The interviewer asked Conway,
“Do you know if Trump Tower was wiretapped?”
Trump’s counselor responded, again, without evidence,
“What I can say is there are many ways to surveil each other now, unfortunately. There was an article this week that talked about how you can surveil someone through their phones, through their — certainly through their television sets, any number of different ways, and microwaves that turn into cameras, etc., so we know that that is just a fact of modern life.”
Huh? Conway later clarified Monday on Good Morning America that she wasn’t saying Trump and his campaign were being surveilled by microwaves, it was too later for Twitter.
