According to The Washington Post, Russia has banned depicting President Vladimir Putin as a gay clown.
Russian news outlets are having some trouble reporting exactly which image of the internet’s many Putin-gay-clown memes is now illegal to share. (Hello?! It’s been banned!)
But the picture (above) was described on the Russian government’s list of things that constitute “extremism.”
Item 4071: a picture of a Putin-like person “with eyes and lips made up.”
That poster became popular in 2013, after Russia passed a law banning telling children about
“nontraditional sexual relations.”
Gay rights protesters were beaten and arrested.
In 2015, Russian authorities began shutting down websites of Putin critics, and restricting nearly all anonymous blogs.
Sad and Useless has collected these images and warns along with The Wow Report, whatever you do,
DON’T SHARE THEM ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
That would be illegal and no doubt bug the shit out of Putin. On second thought, you’re not in Russia (are you?) Share away!
