Have you heard about Logo’s Finding Prince Charming? It’s hosted by Lance Bass, and will include 13 hot gay bachelors, living together and competing win the heart of an eligible gay heartthrob. Sound familiar? It’s basically the gay version of The Bachelor, except that there’s no proposal at the end.
So who’s the first guy? According to TMZ, it’s this beefcake, Robert Sepúlveda Jr., an Atlanta interior designer.
But if memory serves, this isn’t the first gay-centric Bachelor-type show, right? Bravo‘s Boy Meets Boy aired in 2003, for example, but the twist in that show was that the potential suitors were a mix of gay and straight men. Bachelor franchise producer/host Chris Harrison has been ambivalent about making a queer person the center of a Bachelor or Bachelorette season. He told the New York Times in 2014,
“The question is: Is it a good business decision? Is our job to break barriers, or is it a business?”
Yes, “business” seems to be the operative word on The Bachelor and The Bachlorette, not love. Hey, speaking of girls, how long before the lesbian spin-off? Would that be called Finding Cinderella?
Finding Prince Charming is out on Logo this fall. Stay tuned. In the meantime enjoy this #HumpdayHottie’s pics.
