Nitwit LA Unified School District Superintendent Ramon Cortines caused a firestorm of controversy when he suspended three LA teachers for allowing images of OJ Simpson, Dennis Rodman, and RuPaul to be included in a Black History Month parade. RuPaul? Really? To many people hearing the story on the internet, it was their first impression of Mr. Cortines. But, thanks to an elephant-memoried tipster, we’ve learned that this isn’t Ramone’s first trip to the gay rodeo. Back in the ’90s, when he was New York City schools chancellor, he was famous for cock-blocking the GMHC’s attempts to distribute safe-sex materials to NYC high school students, saying they were “salacious” and “had no educational value.” He also fired from the school system two AIDS consultants who were financed by the NYU Medical Center and community-based organizations. So, I think we can safely assume the guy is a homophobic douchebag with a long-term commitment to undermining the gay community. Pitchforks yet? Anybody? Anybody?
