At a Japanese hotel recently, Elton John checked in as Lillian Lollipop, primarily because it amused him that the staff find it hard to pronounce.
OK, that’s retarded (of Elton John). Japanese people can pronounce L sounds, not R sounds. All the Japanese words that are spelled (in English) with an R are pronounced with an L. Ramen = lamen. So in fact Elton John was doing Japanese people a favor with such an easy-to-pronounce name. Jackass. I (and the Taiwanese) hate him even more now.
