Today is National Masturbation Day, an annual event held on May 28.
A little history; The first Masturbation Day was May 7, 1995, when San Francisco sex shop, Good Vibrations declared it a day in honor of Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders, who was been fired by President Bill Clinton for suggesting masturbation be part of the sex education curriculum for students. (I know. Of all people Bill Clinton…)
Now International Masturbation Day has been expanded to include the entire month of May, which works out this year (and maybe every month) since we have so much time on our hands lately.
In fact, I got an email from BateWorld.com, which calls itself,
“The premier online masturbation community for gay, bisexual, and straight men. “
Apparently all-day, BateWorld has opened their VidChat, a feature normally reserved for premium membership.
BateWorld founder Peter R (no last name given) says,
“We view BateWorld as a respite from all the craziness in the world.”
It starts Thursday, May 28th at 12:00amEST and runs through midnight and is free and open to all men over 18. Visit BateWorld.com. Follow them on Twitter @BateWorld, #masturbateforgood and #bateanddonate
The 24-hour Bate-a-Thon is billed as “Anxiety Release for COVID Relief.” Donations are not required, but participants are encouraged to contribute to an organization supporting COVID-19 relief, such as;
Humanity & Inclusion, Coronavirus Relief Fund’ on GlobalGiving, OutRight Action International, Artist Relief Project, The Trevor Project, and the Emergency COVID Relief for Sex Workers in New York.
Of course, this reminds me of The Contest episode of Seinfeld. I’ve been re-watching the series in quarantine as I take my lunch break every day. It’s a classic.
