Republican leaders and Cabinet officials have told CNN that they believe Trump should be removed from office before January 20.
After violent pro-Trump terrorists stormed the Capitol building at Trump’s urging just hours before, calls for the 25th Amendment to be invoked are getting louder.
And one current Republican elected official said,
“He has to be impeached and removed.”
A former senior official said the President’s actions were egregious enough to remove him even with such a short time left in his tenure.
“I think this has been a huge shock to the system. How do you keep him in place for two weeks after this?”
If impeaching and/or removing Trump, the Senate could then vote to disqualify Trump from EVER holding federal office again.
And by invoking the 25th Amendment Vice President Mike Pence and a majority of the Cabinet would have to vote to remove Trump from office due to his inability to
“discharge the powers and duties of his office.”
According to CNN’s source in the administration, some Cabinet members are now holding preliminary discussions about invoking the 25th Amendment.
Meanwhile, a muted Trump has been kicked off Twitter until he deletes post and video claiming unfounded election fraud.

Tonight, I am asking Vice President Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment and begin the process of removing President Trump from office.
