Today is #GivingTuesday and this year’s ARTWALK NY annual auction benefiting the Coalition for the Homeless tomorrow night will honor artist Louise Fishman and collectors and philanthropists, Vincent and Shelly Fremont. Onhand will be lots of art world celebs on and off the walls with special guest Debbie Harry and works by Fishman, Jenny Holzer, Kenny Scharf, Christopher Makos, Ed Ruscha, Walter Robinson, Bob Gruen, Andy Warhol, and even me, Trey Speegle. (I’m in good company thanks to curator, Natalie Kates, who’ll be wearing pants by PAOM that I designed that match my artwork in the auction.)
Artwalk honoree Shelly Fremont is an established art director, gallery director, and writer, and her involvement extends beyond the professional and her longtime friendship with artists like Warhol, who husband Vincent worked for. She co-directed and co-produced the award-winning documentary about Factory worker Brigid Berlin, called Pie in the Sky: The Brigid Berlin Story.
She texted her response to questions and it tells you a bit more about the organization and the event. Plus, it’s funny.
All the lots are online live now. (here’s a smattering of some works I like) Online bidding on Paddle 8 will close at 5PM EST on November 28th. Online bids will be enacted at the live event tomorrow night in NYC on November 29th. Tickets are still available here, they start at $500. I’ll be there!
