For H&M’s upcoming summer ad campaign, supermodel Gisele Bundchen covers Blondie’s “Heart of Glass,” sounding, frankly, like a cat on meathook. Dear God in heaven. That voice. Like somebody threw a Speak-N-Spell into the pool. Like language isn’t her first language. I’ve never quite understood her appeal, anyway, but after watching her bark out this aural abomination, I guess I feel sorry for her. She’s obviously in a lot of pain.
The video premiered today exclusively on Good Morning America, thankfully, H&M, Bundchen, and director Bob Sinclar will donate all royalties from the song to UNICEF for its work for education, according to H&M.
The campaign will start in-store and on hm.com on May 1. The song is available for sale on iTunes.
