Our #GirlCrush of the week goes to the one and only Amanda Stenberg! I gather that most people will recognize them from The Hunger Games where she played District 11’s competitor Rue, who unfortunately was killed during the first match. BUT Amandla is so much more than that role, and their acting abilities. They’re a full blown bisexual feminist prophet and they prefer gender neutral pronouns (They/Them)!
They have persistently produced her own short films, the most famous being “Don’t Cash Crop My Cornrows” which she made as a 16 year old for a history class. #KILLME
Like Beyoncé, Amandla is a huge advocate for black girl magic, and empowering black youth whilst uplifting their communities on the beauty of blackness.
