This morning George Hamilton was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. Some initial confusion on my part over who Mr Hamilton actually is (doesn’t he endorse those lean mean grilling machines?) was cleared up as soon as the debonair actor’s lengthy credits were read, and as he emerged resplendent with perpetual suntan and blonde booby girlfriend/grandaughter (you never can tell in this town). Spotted in the crowd supporting George were longtime buddy James Caan, garlic pill guru Nikki Haskell, and wowlebrity Madonna Mike (screaming “GEORGE! GEORGE!” from about two feet away from the actor’s face). The ceremony comes nine days before the release of Renee Zellweger-starrer My One and Only, based on George’s early life with his mother and brothers.
