WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
As we fearfully await the Battle of Winterfell Sunday night – and all the certain deaths that are sure to accompany it – the big question of who will end up on the Iron Throne will probably go unanswered until the last episode. Looper, though, has a theory that Podrick may have given us a hint with his mournful little song about Jenny of Oldstones, a low-status woman who married Prince Duncan Targaryen. As they explain it – “Their union, which Prince Duncan’s father, King Aegon V, disapproved of, spurred Prince Duncan to renounce his claim to the Iron Throne despite being the rightful heir” – foretells Jon’s decision to abdicate the throne (that is rightfully his) for his lady love, Daenerys.
There’s a lot of gobbledygook here that makes perfect sense when you’re watching it, but I’d be hard-pressed to explain it to you now. So watch below and discuss amongst yourselves in the Facebook comments section.
