Terrifying “Gags the Clown” Is Stalking the Streets of Green Bay, Wisconsin

Multiple news outlets in Green Bay, Wisconsin, have been reporting about a mysterious clown (named “Gags”) roaming the streets in the dead of night.

The first sighting happened Monday, August 1, around 2 a.m., according to a Facebook page called “Gags – The Green Bay Clown.” Since then, at least seven other photos of the clown have been taken in the same area.

The mysterious Facebook page gives no clue why the clown was called Gags. A message to the page from HuffPo went unreturned.

WBAY-TV described Gags’ look as “more Pennywise than Ronald McDonald.” His “outfit appears shabby and he’s carrying black balloons,” the station reported.

Green Bay police are getting calls about the creepy clown, but according to Capt. Kevin Warych, there’s not much that can be done,

“A person can walk down the sidewalk dressed however they want as long as they’re in a place they legally can be, and they’re not in a place that has a closing time, like a park,” Warych told WGBA-TV.

Some people have speculated the clown is part of a viral marketing stunt. The Facebook page appeared about an hour after Gags’ first sighting, lending credence to that theory, according to Chicagoist.com.

Others have guessed the clown is part of a horror movie shoot. That seems unlikely, as the video above shows no camera crew.

Then there are the conspiracists who claim the CLOWNS ARE EVERYWHERE, they are ORGANIZED, and have a murderous agenda.
