Self-serving plug of the day: My 2007 YA novel about a teenage drag queen who gets bullied at his school has finally been turned into an audio book by Hachette Audio! What better way to prep for the upcoming movie (starring Abigail Breslin, Laverne Cox, Bette Midler, and the adorable Alex Lather!) than to get this and listen on those long summer road trips or maybe just on the elliptical at the gym. You’ll love it, I promise. I’ve listened to most of it and it’s absolutely adorable (if I don’t say so myself). It’s read by a number of kids, including Ben Estus as Billy (the young hero), Tracey Petrillo, and Caitlin Kelly. A gazillion thanks to Hachette’s Elece Green (who actually was the book’s assistant editor back at Dutton!) for making it happen!
Get your copy at Hachette, Amazon, or anyplace that stream audio books, I guess.
