Niall Horan was always the dark horse of 1D. Not as pretty as Zayn, not as charismatic as Harry… but there was always something there. He had a fragility that made you want to hug him and tell him it was all going to be alright. And a million watt smile that surprised you every time you saw it. And most importantly, he was the one who got along with ALL of his bandmates. No squabbles. No mind games. He’s just a good guy. Period.
Then there’s the voice. It tended to get lost amidst Harry and Zayn’s showboating, but when you hear it solo, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how lovely it is.
Below is his new stripped-down acoustic song, “This Town,” produced by Greg Kurstin, the super-producer behind Adele’s “Hello”, and Sia’s “The Greatest” and “Cheap Thrills”, – done in just one take. Pretty impressive stuff
I’ve always said Niall has the potential to be bigger that either Harry or Zayn – he’s got a Robbie Williams quality to him – mark my words.
