How original is Lady Gaga? Not very, as it’s been established. Here she is on the Today show this morning, virtually morphing into Madonna before our very eyes. Now take a look at her “little monsters” outside Madison Square Garden last night. If I didn’t know better, I’d say it was 1985 and those were Madonnabes. I mean, really. Right down to the bustier, fishnets and fingerless lace gloves. So I guess my followup questions would be: Is Lady Gaga’s lack of originality contagious? Or are we just living in a derivative society with no new ideas? And at what point does “homage” become “plagiarism?” (via The Superficial and Fashionista, respectively)
