Erstwhile Ginger Spice, Gerri Halliwell, who’s been pregnant with the child of no-longer-in-the-picture former Bush drummer and screenwriter, Sacha Gervasi (The Terminal), for what seemed like months, finally gave birth to a girl 10 days ago, but has waited until now to reveal the baby’s name because of an exclusive deal she made with Brit mag Hello! We weren’t expecting much – if anything – from her in the way of baby-naming skillz in this day and age of freakish baby names, but turns out she didn’t disappoint. After being “stunned,” she said, by the spring flowers she saw in the park while she was pregnant, she decided to call her daughter Bluebell Madonna. All right, we understand the unfortunate Bluebell part, but how to explain the Madonna? “As she came out of my tummy,” Halliwell said, “Bluebell had both arms wide in the air as if announcing, ‘Hi, I’m here.’ She was screaming her head off, as though she was shouting, ‘Hello Wembley!’ ” If that were a typical system of baby-naming – what they’re like coming out – most kids would be named Fucking Morphine.
