However the song became controversial when it was discovered that the video was a lip sync!
In 1989, Martha Wash was approached by Black Box, then known as Groove Groove Melody, to record demos for other musicians in exchange for a flat fee. Wash recorded vocals for the songs in a five-day period, which were kept in six of nine songs from the group’s debut studio album Dreamland (1990).
But a producer said that the act had also used singer Loleeatta Holloway‘s (left) vocals. She was never credited and went on to sue the band and won.
