Flashback 1974: William S Burroughs Endorses Mr Peanut for Mayor

Vincent Trasov, as Mr Peanut, the Planters mascot, ran for mayor in the 1974 Vancouver Civic Election with no less a luminary than Naked Lunch author William S Burroughs stumping for him. He didn’t win, of course, despite such auspicious endorsement, but he did get 2,685 votes. (t/y Louis)
