It’s fashion week in Los Angeles. Actually, make that fracas week. In Paris during runway season, the violence is usually contained to an army of skeletal editrixes in vintage Chanel battling for seats under the tents. In LA, however, it can be manly fisticuffs when you least expect it. Last night, in a warehouse in Culver City, the fashionista brigade turned up all turned out for Traver Rains and Richie Rich’s Heatherette Holiday 2004 collection.
The celebrities in attendance were of the cool-but-where’ve-they-been variety, like Jenny McCarthy, Tony Ward, Jesse Camp, and French Stewart. James St. James sat next to handsome Chili Pepper Anthony Kiedis, who cooed appreciatively over the handsome male models. McCarthy walked the runway, as did Ward, stripteuse Dita Von Teese, and Kimberly Stewart (there with daddy Rod). The ubiquitous and pneumatic Amanda Lepore brought the warehouse to its feet in a dramatic, feathery finale.
But the real finale occurred backstage after the show. As WOW’s Chris McKim and Thairin Smothers were interviewing Heatherette’s Traver Rains, The Help hunk Antonio Sabato Jr. was getting the shit beat out of him by an unidentified assailant. Arresting.
