Asteroid City is an upcoming American sci-fi, dramedy written & directed by Wes Anderson.
It’s based on a story by Anderson and Roman Coppola. The set-up is,
Transformative events occur at the annual Junior Stargazer convention in 1955.
The ensemble cast is more or less a who’s who of actor’s actors working in Hollywood today, many Anderson regulars; Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Margot Robbie, Steve Carell, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Bryan Cranston, Maya Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Hong Chau, Liev Schreiber, Matt Dillon, Stephen Park, Hope Davis, Rupert Friend, Tony Revolori, and Jake Ryan.
One missing name is Bill Murray, an Anderson fave who was originally cast in the film, but was replaced by Carell after contracting COVID shortly before production was to begin.
